Oldschool gothic lolita by chocolatehomicide Oldschool gothic lolita by chocolatehomicide
I wanted to draw something inspired by the early days of gothic lolita, like the things you see in some of the early GLBs. Back when black x white outfits, chunky platforms, and rectangle headdresses were at the height of fashion. Modern lolita is great and all, but this look is what got me into lolita in the first place.

she looks so cool *_* I like nothing in special, this one is overall great :D

I wish things could be this easy nowadays: simple JSK, blouse, headdress and shoes.

Thanks!

I like the simple look, but I like the OTT look, too. I think they both have their charms.

OTT Gothic, yes ;)
but OTT Sweet or Decora-Lolita is not quite my taste ^^

OTT sweet isn't anything I'd wear, either, but I think it looks cute on the girls who do. As for my own wardrobe, whether it be simple or OTT, its gothic all the way!

I love how gothic lolita is nowadays, but I agree with you.. The oldschool style is so fucking perfect *-*

I loved looking at the dresses back then. Its not so much that I wish the newer looks had never come about, but I wish that the oldschool gothic style wasn't so... abandoned, you know?

I completely undestand what you're saying. I mean, it was that olschool goth loli stuff that made me fall in love with lolita in the first place :3

Yay for oldschool. I miss seeing this style around the place. I love the rectangle headdress, I really can't see why so many people don't like it anymore

Its weird- now that I've drawn it, everyone is saying how much they love the old styles, but if everyone loves it so much, why is hardly anyone wearing it anymore? Thank you, though.

infact I have noticed that the old school items are much cheaper on the sales journals than other styles so its not all bad :)

I don't usually buy from sales journals, so I haven't really noticed, lol.

^__^ I got here from EGL.. I just wanted to say that THIS ROCKS! I totally miss the old Gothic Lolitas..When it was more Victorian Gothic then anything else. I mean, even some of Moitie's stuff is starting to look a bit sweet/classic >__<.

Once upon a 2004, I was totally obsessed with this stuff. Loved it then and still do. Also, I love how delicate she looks and how you draw EYES.

That around the time I first started getting into loli, too. I remember when I first saw it I fell instantly in love, lol.

I'm glad you like the eyes, 'cause eyes have been frustrating the shit out of me lately XD

I tried to draw it, but I didn't do such a great job back then, lol. Thankfully I've improved.

I never did such a good job. I think the quality probably would have been ten times better without the ANIMOOZ art style that I was using. xD

I did a lot of that, too. I kept drawing anime style long after my interest in anime was long gone. Come to think of it, you're the one introduced me to anime in the first place, all those years ago. ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!

I still wuv you.

I'M SO SORRY ;n;

Rofl, I'm a shameful creature because I still read some manga, though I try not to draw in it anymore. I suppose I just have poor self control/want to be a child even though I'm an adult.

I wuv you too.

Haha, I forgive you.

There's nothing wrong with reading a little manga (I don't do it any more, but lots of my friends do). At least you aren't all crazy about it like some girls. Morbidly obese girls shoving themselves into skimpy cosplay and talking about how anime guys are their boyfriends on the other hand, is taking it too far.

hell no! i know a lot of the local lolis rather like the old stuff too. shame, really, that the bitchlolis like to make fun of anyone wearing a rectangle headdress.

I still wear my rectangle headdress with pride! I wonder why so many girls choose to shun one of accessories that used to be such a fundamental part of the style?

good on you, lady! who knows-it's kind of like why so many girls who wear angelic pretty feel it necessary to look like clones. i'm fairly certain the old style will come back around eventually.

I think the AP clones are cute, but I really do hope some of the older trends come back in style. Bonnets made a comeback, so maybe there is hope for the headdress after all.

eh, they're cute, but oh so similar. i was so happy when bonnets came back! i can't wear one to save my life, but they can be pretty epic. let's hold out for the rectangle comeback!
